In 1982, I once again teamed up with my old friend and musical partner Niall Bell, this time in a band called Dickie Do & The Don’ts.
The group featured Pete Stewart on guitar and vocals, Annabelle on vocals, Niall on drums and vocals, and me on bass and vocals. Compared with some of the more experimental projects I had been involved with, this was a more straightforward song-based band, with a strong emphasis on melody, vocals and tight arrangements.
Garage Recordings – 1982
Fortunately, we recorded a number of songs during rehearsals in Niall’s garage, using an Akai reel-to-reel recorder.
Those recordings have survived and include:

They may be simple rehearsal recordings, but they capture another period in my long musical partnership with Niall and preserve the sound of the band exactly as we were playing it in 1982.
