Ear Logic was a short-lived heavy rock project that brought together three musicians who had crossed paths in earlier Cape Town bands.
I was once again playing alongside Niall Bell, with Mike Smuts, my former bandmate from The Vipers, on guitar. The three-piece format gave the band a powerful, stripped-down sound, with Mike’s guitar, Niall’s drums and vocals, and my bass forming the core of the music.
Although Ear Logic only lasted for a short time, we recorded a number of tracks during the project. These recordings are one of the few surviving records of the band and capture another chapter of my musical life in Cape Town during the 1980s.
